You only need a doctor’s note if you are unable to work and are ill for longer than seven calendar days. Your employer will provide you with an SC2 self-certificate form for shorter periods of illness.
If an employer insists on a doctor’s note for less and one week’s absense then we will charge a fee to issue a private certificate.
If you have been in hospital, a sick note can be issued by your hospital doctor or consultant without the need to see a GP.
